To anyone who would like to learn to fly a Trike (Weight Shift Control)
First find someone who knows what they're doing and is willing to teach you that skill. I found just the man, Buddy Babcock. He will work with you and train you no matter how bad it seems at the time. The man just doesn't give up, when you almost wreck yourself and him too. He has patience, understanding, and so much knowledge about how and why the trike acts the way it does. After time and a few, 20 or so hours, I woke up and found out that it was I that was making the craft act the way it did.
Buddy's teaching skills always include safety, proper procedures, ground rules, FAA rules and everything it takes to become a sport pilot. With his attention to my needs, I meet that goal in just a few short months, which was only on week ends, as weather permitted. I know of no other person that would have been as demanding in the right way to do things then Buddy Babcock.
Every time I board my trike and take to the skies and enjoy the beauty of flight, I always think about who got me here. Thanks Buddy for your kindness as a person and a friend.
